The Library of the Russian academy of sciences organises a seminar dedicated to the 500th anniversary of Ulysse Aldrovandi. The seminar will take place on September 14 2022 at 11:00 (Moscow time). Several Russian historians of science, art historians, biologists and bibliographers are going to make presentations on Ulysses Aldrovandi’s role and place in the Early Modern science, on the significance of the works of Ulisse Aldrovandi for the development of botany and zoology, on the preservation of the scientific heritage of Ulisse Aldrovandi in St. Petersburg and on related topics.
A small exhibition of rare editions of Ulisse Aldrovandi books of the 16th and the 17th centuries will be organised at the same time at the Library.
