Abstract
In the summer of 2022, some interventions to check the state of conservation, cleaning and restoration of part of the naturalistic collection of Ulisse Aldrovandi began. During these interventions it was possible to analyze the techniques used for the preparation and conservation of the zoological finds. Among these finds there are three “basilisks” that are particularly interesting: the Centrina vera Aristotelis, the Bufo caudatus et dentatus and the Bufo caudatus sine dentibus. Among the finds, a Boa constrictor, which is not part of the collection of the Bolognese scholar, was discovered.
